Feel My Love Page 7
Taking up the width of her entire left side, she has a small bird sitting on a cherry blossom branch. The tattoo is almost all black, but has small pink cherry blossom flowers around the bird. “This one?” I look into her eyes.
“That” she says “is a perched love bird that is waiting for her soul mate. I figured the man that loves me will get the other love bird so that when we are next to each other, the birds sit on their branch together and the heart will be complete. Stupid, I know, but at the time I got it, it was so beautiful and symbolic that I had to have it done.” I nod, and then lay her back down because I don’t see any more on her back, and start to scoot down her body.
I remember the one on her bare pubic bone and notice that it’s really low. “Did this one hurt?” It’s a feather, inked in light blue and purple tones, but the end quills turn into small black birds that are flying away from the feather.
“Yeah, it was one of the more painful ones.” She says. I kiss it and move on to find more. I see one low on her right hip that says I’m still figuring out who I am, but I know I’m not who I was in smaller dark pink letters, outlined with black.
I now see that most of her tattoos are a reassurance that she has changed from her old life and is now in charge of her own life instead of others. I look up her right side and see she has one on the side of her right breast in black lettering that says you are a rare find and has a small daisy next to it. “That was one of the more painful ones, as well.” She says, so I kiss it and then take her right nipple in my mouth and suck it quickly, letting it go with a loud pop, then move onto my exploration as she lets out a small moan.
When I turn her onto her stomach, I see that she has a small pink bow tattooed under her left butt cheek, which looks super sexy. “This one’s hot” I say and then nip at it. Then, I barely notice something on the outer curve of her right butt cheek.
I have to squint to see it because the script is so small and it looks more like a scar than a tattoo, but once I notice what it says I chuckle and look up at her. “Really, Brynn. Are you serious?” She buries her face in her pillow for a second and then laughs and says “Ah, so you found it. I lost a bet.”
She laughs again but doesn’t elaborate so I look back down at the tattoo which is in very light, almost invisible, ink that says I only rap caucasionally and laugh, too.
I don’t see any more on her legs, so I turn her onto her back and move down to her feet. On her right foot, she has a peace sign made out of daisies in different colors and sizes that takes up the entire top of her foot. “That was the most painful one, by far. Top of the foot tattoos aren’t for pussies, you know.” She says and then laughs when I raise my brow at her. I lean down and kiss it, then do a scan of the rest of her body.
I spot the one I saw last night on her wrist that says Enough with the birds flying around it, but that is only eleven, and I remember she said she had thirteen of them. Where are the two that I’m missing? I don’t see them anywhere.
After I’m done flipping Brynn back and forth on the bed, she starts laughing at me. “Where are the other two? You should be the Easter bunny or something, because I don’t see them anywhere.” Brynn giggles and then pulls her hair away from her right ear and pulls the top of her ear down. What looks like an arrow is in light purple outlined with dark purple. It’s not big, but it would be noticeable if her hair were pulled up.
“Is that an arrow?” I ask her. She nods and just looks at me. “Explain?” I ask when I don’t get an answer. Brynn clears her throat and then, with a smile, says “Well, it represents life. The arrow has to be pulled back in order to move forward. In life, things can pull you back, but it’s an opportunity for something else to shoot you forward.”
“And the last one?” I say, once I realize she’s finished the explanation of the one behind her ear. Then she lifts up her left foot so that I can see the bottom. On her arch, she has the words Miles To Go in very thick, black ink.
“Very clever, Brynnie. Did you get this because you run?” “Yes and no. I got it because I love to run and it seemed better than getting 26.2 tattooed on the top of my foot like everyone else does” she says with a smirk.
“26.2? What does that mean?” I ask, not understanding. “26.2 miles is the length of a marathon.” Holy shit. “You run that far for fun?” I ask incredulously and she just grins and nods. “That’s fucking crazy. That doesn’t sound fun at all.”
Brynn laughs at me and then continues. “Anyway, I got it for running, but also because I have so much life left to live. So many things I still need to experience. My life has so many more miles that I can travel and endure, and I’m so excited that my life has really just begun; I’m ready to see what I’ll experience in my future miles.” I am ready to ask her what else she wants from her life when there is a knock at her front door.
After a small hesitation from her, I watch Brynn get out of bed and get a peek at her great ass with that small bow tattoo under her cheek and smile again thinking about the other tattoo on her ass cheek that is barely even noticeable unless you are right next to it, before she puts on her thick purple robe to see who’s at her door. I lay back down on her pillow for a minute and try to process what just happened and what this means for us, when I hear Brynn say something and a man’s voice start to yell at her.
Chapter 15
Brynn
I’m a bit too dazed by what just happened with Ryan to even think about who could be at my front door. When I open it, I’m greeted by shoulder length brown hair, tanned, tattooed arms and a perfect smile with a hint of a lip ring.
Drew.
Shit, I forgot I told him to come over today for our hook up, but I don’t think that’s possible now. I’m not sure what’s going to happen between Ryan and me, but I’m actually looking forward to a possible relationship, instead of running from the idea like I normally do.
“Hey guitar hero, how are you?” He starts walking into the house and puts his arms out so that he can hug me, but I side step his open arms and look away from him. “What’s going on superstar? Are we gonna get it on, or what?” Drew says with furrowed brows.
“I can’t, Drew. I have company and I was actually thinking that you and I need to quit while we’re ahead and stop sleeping together.” Drew’s brows pull together and I can see the vein in his neck getting thicker and his face is turning red.
“What the fuck, Brynn? I thought what we had here was going well.” Drew spits out. I hear Ryan coming out of my bedroom, so I turn to find him in just his cargo shorts and no shirt, his chiseled chest exposed and a perfectly shaped v above his shorts, walking up beside me and putting his arm around my waist.
“Problem, Brynnie?” Ryan asks, looking at Drew like he wants to punch him. Drew has a built upper body, but he’s not as built as Ryan and Ryan has about two or three inches in height on Drew. “No, I’m good, thanks.” I say, trying not to salivate at the sight of Ryan without his shirt on.
“This guy, Brynn? Really?“ Drew says, hiking his thumb toward Ryan. “How many other guys are you fucking along with him and me?” Drew says. I instantly smack him across his left cheek, the sound echoing in my ears. I have told Drew on many different occasions that we were never exclusive and that this could end at any time, but I never sleep with more than one guy at a time.
“How dare you, Drew” I say, rubbing my right hand, which is now stinging like crazy. “I think you need to leave now” I tell him, pointing to his beat up black Honda behind him. “Fuck this. You weren’t that great a lay anyway.” Drew says, a perfect pink outline of my hand is starting to develop on his cheek, and he turns to walk back to his car.
I turn toward Ryan who is keeping his cool pretty well, even though his face is bright red and his hand has tightened on my hip.
I pat Ryan’s hand to tell him that I’m okay and also hoping he’ll loosen the death grip he has on my hip, which he does. As soon as Ryan looks down at me and tightly smiles, Drew turns around and yells “Fuck you, Brynn.
You’re a fucking cock teasing bitch!” Ryan doesn’t take this statement very well. He opens the front door wide and then runs full speed right at Drew. As soon as they are a few feet from each other, Ryan punches Drew on the left side of his face, just above where I smacked him, and Drew falls to the pavement.
Ryan kneels down next to Drew and whispers something to him that I can’t hear. Drew grits his teeth, nods his head once and then gets up slowly, watching to see if Ryan is going to make a move on him again, and then walks quickly to his car.
Ryan starts walking back to me as soon as Drew’s car is out of my driveway. He has a very serious scowl on his face and he’s flexing his hands open and closed. “Is he your boyfriend, Brynn?” Ryan points back at the direction that Drew’s car just left in.
“No, of course he’s not. I told you earlier I haven’t had a boyfriend since Jake. We’ve just slept together on a few occasions. It was never anything serious and he knew it.” Ryan doesn’t speak, just nods his head and looks down to the ground, seeming to calm down.
“What did you say to him, Ryan?” I ask. “Nothing worth repeating, I just basically told him that he is never to talk to you like that again. I know you have to work with that asshole, but if he ever talks to you like that again, you let me know, okay.” Ryan says, stepping inside and closing the door.
I just nod and look down at his right hand, where his knuckles are starting to swell. “Do you need an ice pack or anything?” I ask. Ryan looks at his hand and nods before making his way to a bar stool at the island.
“I’m sorry you had to hear that, and that you had to punch him.” I say, feeling really bad as I watch Ryan wince when I put the ice pack on his swelling knuckles.
“Don’t feel bad baby. I will punch anyone who talks to my girl like that.” Ryan’s smirks and looks into my eyes. “You’re girl, huh? When did this happen and why wasn’t I informed?” I say, teasing with Ryan, but then feeling bad when his smile starts to fade.
“I’m kidding with you, Ry. Do you really want me to be your girl?” Ryan just looks at me in disbelief and then looks down at the ice pack. “Of course I want you to be mine, Brynn. I’ve wanted you to be mine since we were kids.”
I smile and after a minute of letting him sweat, say “I’d love to be your girl, if that’s what you really want.” Ryan looks back up at me and has an enormous smile plastered on his face. “But,” I say “if you really want me, you have to plan on keeping me. I don’t know if I can take not having you in my life a second time.”
Ryan stands and walks swiftly around the island toward me, then bends and plants a kiss on my lips. “I promise you baby, I will never let you get away from me again. I want you forever” he says and then gives me a long, deep kiss.
Chapter 16
Ryan
The only other time I have been this happy was when my girls were born. The moment Brynn says she would be mine, I thought my face was going to split in two from smiling so wide. I stop kissing her long enough to look into her beautiful blue eyes; then I glance down to see her in that purple robe and remember that she was naked under it.
I grin wickedly as I recall her toned little body and all of those hot tattoos all over which gets me ready for round two really quickly. “What’s with that look?” Brynn asks with her brows drawn together. I untie the sash on the robe, and then pull it apart so that I could run my hands all over her soft body.
Leaning in to kiss her, I say “I just can’t stop thinking about how damn sexy you are and how badly I want to be inside you again.” Brynn smiles “I think that can be arranged.” Her eyes twinkle and she leans in to kiss me.
The second my hands wrap around her back and they start to roam down to her perfect ass, my phone rings. I groan and think about not answering it, but it could be Becca telling me something about the girls, so I lift up a finger and reach into my pocket.
Of course, it’s Kyle. “Fuck” I mutter. I should really be helping him with things for the wedding, he is the reason I came down here, but I don’t want to leave Brynn. “Go ahead and answer it. I’m going to make some lunch for us” Brynn says, closing her robe and then leaning in to give me a swift kiss before walking to her fridge.
I slide the green bar on my phone to answer it and then say “Hey man, what’s up?” I’m waiting to hear the teasing I’m going to get because I didn’t make it back to the hotel last night. “Hey douche, where the hell are you? You never came back to the hotel after you were done talking to Brynn last night” Kyle huffs.
“I think you just answered your own question” I say, then wait while Kyle thinks it over. After almost a minute of silence, Kyle yells “Oh shit, you went home with Brynn, didn’t you?”
I smile “Yeah, I did.”
“So, did you finally get your ass laid?” Kyle jokes. “Fuck off, Kyle. I’m not going to talk to you about this.” I say, knowing he wants to know more, but I refuse to talk to him about Brynn. She isn’t just some random one night stand; I’m keeping her forever.
“Holy shit” Kyle says with amazement in his voice, “You did get laid. It’s about time you and Brynn did it. I never thought that would happen.” “Shut it, Kyle. Why did you really call?” I know I’m being a dick now, but I want to get off the phone and get inside Brynn again.
“Well asshat, we have the rehearsal dinner in a few hours and I need some help getting some things taken over to the reception hall in the hotel. Most of the other guys are pretty hung over from last night and can’t get up, let alone help me take things over there. Can you help a brother out?” I sigh and run my hand over my short hair. I really want to be with Brynn, but Kyle is my best friend and I’m a groomsman, so I should be helping him out.
“Yeah, yeah I can be there for you, man. I’ll be there soon.” I say, looking up at Brynn but her back is turned to me, so I don’t know if she’s upset or not. “Cool, thanks Ry. See you soon.” Kyle says before hanging up.
I put my phone back into my pocket and walk over towards Brynn, who is now making us sandwiches. I stand behind her and put my arms around her small waist. She stops cutting a tomato to put her hands on mine and leans her head back against my chest. I kiss the side of her neck and listen to her hum.
“So, you have to get going then?” she finally says and turns her head to look at me. She doesn’t look upset, but the tone of her question tells me she’s a bit disappointed. “Yeah, I’m sorry baby, but Kyle needs some help getting stuff set up before the rehearsal dinner tonight. I guess the other guys got a little too trashed last night and can’t help him out.” I kiss her temple softly and rub my hands on her sides.
“It’s no big deal, Ry.” Brynn says, “I have to do a bit of work today anyway. I’m about a week ahead of where I should be with this project, but I have about three more lined up as soon as this one is finished. The quicker I get it done, the better.”
Brynn lets go of my arms and goes back to making lunch. “Do you have time to eat a sandwich, or do you want it on the go?” she asks. “Are you kidding?” I say, jokingly “I always have time to eat a five star lunch with my girl.” She chuckles and lightly smacks my arm before we sit down at her kitchen island to eat our sandwiches.
Chapter 17
Brynn
I spent ten minutes trying to get Ryan to leave my house so he could go help with Kyle’s wedding, only to have him call me on while he was walking to the hotel. “I’m so glad I remembered to get your number before I left,” Ryan says “I never would have heard from you again if I hadn’t.”
I roll my eyes even though he can’t see it; he’s always been so damned dramatic. “Yeah, since you have no idea where I live or work, it would be almost impossible for you to ever find me.”
“God Brynn, you have no idea how much I have missed your smart ass comments” Ryan says with a smile in his voice. I laugh and am about ready to make another smart ass remark when Ryan says “What are you doing?”
“I’m sitting on my couch doing some work before I have to ge
t ready to go to the bar for some more work tonight.” I say, opening a new program on my computer.
Ryan clears his throat and then says “Can I come see you at work tonight after I finish with rehearsal dinner? I don’t want that douche guitar player to give you any more trouble.” I inwardly sigh, forgetting that I have to work with Drew tonight, and then say “Of course you can come down to the bar. You are always welcome to come down; and don’t worry about Drew. I doubt there will be any trouble tonight. That’s the only job he has and I’m sure he doesn’t want to lose it.”
“Good to hear. I’d hate to have to beat his ass, again.” Ryan starts to snicker after he says this, but then clears his throat. “Hey, Brynnie?”
“Yes Ryan?” I say, giving just a hint of snarky.
“Since tomorrow is Saturday and it’s Kyle’s wedding, do you think you could come to the wedding with me as my date?” Ryan sounds a bit nervous for my answer, which makes it that much more adorable.
I smile and say “Of course I’ll come as your date. I’d do anything for my man, but I’ll have to be at the bar by eight for work. Will that work?”
“Yeah that should be fine. It’s an early afternoon wedding so I’m sure it will be either almost over or completely over by the time you have to be at work” Ryan says. He talks to me until he gets to his hotel room and then the phone call is overrun by Kyle’s voice in the background making obscene comments about Ryan and me “finally doing it”. When we finally hang up, I don’t have a lot of time to get any work done on the website I am designing before I have to start getting ready to go to the bar.
Two hours later I walk into the bar and see Tommy and Happy on stage getting ready for the night, but see no sign of Drew. I walk up the steps to the stage and, after telling my band mates’ hello, I go about making a playlist for the night and tuning my ukulele.
That’s when Drew finally walks in, twenty minutes late. His left eye is swollen and purple and he will not make eye contact with me. Tommy finally notices and says, “Hey man, what the hell happened to your eye?”
